Spring has sprung Revolver fans, and summer is fast approaching! As the weather warms up so does the live music scene around the triangle and whether you’ll be barefoot on the lawn at Walnut Creek or dancing with your friends at Cat’s Cradle you’ll need the perfect look to see your favorite band… and Revolver’s got you covered! We’ve put together some suggestions for some of the summer’s most anticipated shows and it’s all available in the shop, so buy your tickets and come to see us, we’ll help you put together your ultimate outfit!
Country fans get ready for a packed schedule this summer! At Walnut Creek alone there’ll be Dierks Bentley May 10th, Luke Bryan June 7th & 8th, Tim McGraw June 22nd, Rascall Flats July 25th, Keith Urban August 8th, and Miranda Lambert August 21st! You’ve got some hard choices to make, but what to wear isn’t one of them! A pretty day dress like this open back embroidered one from Kimchi Blue makes the perfect statement when paired with your favorite cowboy boots and an unexpected accessory like our Guatemalan belt!
If you are headed to an indie rock show like Vampire Weekend with Cults on June 12 at Red Hat Amphitheater your look should be effortlessly cool with some standout accessories like this tribal scarf and Ferragamo crossbody bag. A jumpsuit can be a great alternative to a sun dress to keep cool and still have lots of freedom to dance at shows like Haim May 6th at Cat’s Cradle and Cage the Elephant with Foals & J Roddy Walston May 2nd at Red Hat Amphitheater.
With so many 80′s icons headed to Raleigh this summer, you’ll have plenty of opportunities to break out your neon, legwarmers and headbands, or douse yourself in hairspray and get ready to rock! Whether you end up at Walnut Creek for Hall & Oates May 3rd, Journey May 29th, Kiss & Def Leoppard July 20th, or at Red Hat Amphitheater for Pat Benatar and Rick Springfield June 29th make sure you have as much fun as possible with the decade of fashion decadence! We threw an iridescent tank over a full body jumpsuit and made it totally rad with Betsey Johnson rainbow stripe pumps!
If your first priority this summer is getting to the Widespread Panic shows June 5th and 6th at Red Hat Amphitheater you’ll need a look to jam out in! Whether you’re front row or out in the lawn breaking it down, comfort is key and we’ve put together a look that’s hippie chic with an Ace & Jig dress and Coconuts snakeskin sandals. Try a pair of vintage shades like these luxe Ray-Bans and layer on the chains for a look that will work just as well at Dave Mathews Band July 23rd or at Slightly Stoopid with Stephen Marley and G. Love & Special Sauce August 8th.
If beach music is more your scene make sure to check out the Midtown Beach Music Series at the North Hills Commons Thursday nights from 6-9pm. The Embers featuring Craig Woolard will be playing June 5th. Whether you’re shagging or just drinking you’ll be doing it in style in the perfect summer dress with a classic pair of sandals. We paired a strapless Sabine dress with K. Jacques leather sandals for all you sweet Carolina girls!
The boho vibe is a staple of summer music festivals, but don’t worry you don’t have to travel far or do any camping to try out this look. We layered a Winter Kate fringe vest over a velvet crop top and leather shorts for a funky eclectic mix then added ankle boots by Pierre Hardy and a Good Girls Studio statement necklace to top it off. If Bonnaroo is not in the cards this year, try this out at Wild Belle May 10th at Motorco Music Hall or at Ray LaMontagne July 26th at Red Hat Amphitheater.
The PNC Arena is drawing some big names in pop music this summer with Bruno Mars on June 14th and Katy Perry June 22nd! A sexy mini dress like the striped Troubadour one we chose paired with of-the-moment Jenni Kayne d’orsay flats makes the perfect sartorial statement to stand out in the crowd!
Whichever shows you end up at this summer, remember a concert can be a chance to wear things you wouldn’t usually try in daily life so pull those pieces out of your closet that you never seem to have a place to wear- or come to Revolver and find something truly unique! Just have fun with it!

“Easy, breezy, beautiful”
may be Maybelline’s tagline,
but it’s also the mantra of Summer dressing.
You may think it’s hard to look put together and stylish
while keeping cool,
but with these tips and tricks
you’ll be looking like a fabulous beach babe!
The key to effortless style is color – the perfect shade can make a simple outfit seems a lot more interesting. We love this coral Nation dress paired with clean-line, neutral accessories.
If you fear bold color, a subtle shimmer plays off the gleaming sun. Matte gold or silver are perfect for day-to-night since they aren’t too intense, plus it illuminates your skin – tanned or au natural!
On those warm Summer nights spent out on the town, you want to look sleek and sexy – not sweaty. Choose a rich colored dress and incorporate variations of the hue in your accessories. A little sparkle keeps you shining even after the sun goes down.
When styling is minimal, a strong color goes a long way. Red looks great on tan or fair skin, just find your perfect shade! To make red more day, try pairing it with turquoise and metallic for an eclectic feel. This look is great for a lunch with friends or business associates!

Recently, we’ve received several Milly pieces at Revolver
and we love them!
one of our favorite brands at the shop,
is fun and flirty
and has arrived just in time for Spring!
Milly NY, designed by Michelle Smith, is all about blending the classic qualities of American design with the sophisticated and luxurious touches of Parisian couture.
Milly was launched in 2001 and has since graced the figures of celebrities such as Beyonce, Mila Kunis, and Kate Middleton. We love how the designs are fresh and bold, while retaining an air of simplistic elegance.
Not only are Milly pieces timeless and perfect for all ages,
the color play is perfect for the Spring/Summer season!
Bold stripes or abstract florals, Milly NY has something for everyone.
Need something chic to wear to a Summer wedding? Throw on a lightweight Milly maxi with your favorite sandals for an easy, breezy ensemble.
Looking for a piece to transition your wardrobe? Milly shows impeccable craftsmanship through delicate bead-work that will add some umph to a basic work outfit.
Michelle Smith doesn’t forget about all the events a girl must attend.
Day to night, Milly’s got you covered!
This adorable LBD is great for a first date,
or add some sparkle with rhinestones for a fancy dinner party.
Spring has sprung!
So say goodbye to your boots;
it’s time for the most fabulous season for footwear!
If you’re into fashion rules, you know that white shoes are officially OK after Memorial Day. But it’s okay to blur the lines a little, so break out your pretty white wedges to pair with your pastels!
If you’re not partial to white shoes, try something with shimmer. A sparkly flat will brighten up even your darkest winter garments.
And final you can wear flats again! No more freezing toes or trying to stylishly layer socks and tights. If all-out glitter is too much for your taste, add a bit of edge with gunmetal studs on a simple black flat.
Spring is the time for color;
vibrant, saturated, brilliant color.
Even if your dress is simple,
you can add a splash with color-block kicks.
A more subtle approach to color is with neutral hues. Teal and turquoise pair beautifully with natural materials like cork and earthy textures like snakeskin. Wear these heels with a safari dress or slim-cut khakis.
Guys get to have fun with shoes, too!
Forget about black and brown basics
and try something bold!
We love these aqua sneakers with a printed short, or these black and red Creative Recs with black jeans for an evening downtown.
When the trees turn green
and flowers start to bloom
it’s time to ditch your winter wools
and suits of navy and black.
It’s time for color!
Time for cotton and linen blazers
paired with lightweight button-up shirts!
We love Easter pastels as we head into Spring! The best way to wear color and print is to find a pattern with a lighter shade of your bold color; like this blue and pale peach plaid.
If you prefer more subtle shades, try a sky blue blazer accented with light neutrals; like cream and tan. This pairing works well with your favorite pair of jeans.
Feeling bold? Wear pink! Hot pink gets a touch of the unexpected when worn with berry tones (raspberry, plum, raisin). This combo is best suited for an evening out worn with dark-wash jeans and snazzy shoes!
Maybe bright colors just don’t work with your complexion. But you can still have fun with color and print! We love this blue and pale yellow striped shirt and how it works so nicely with this Mckenzie Tribe blazer! With some linen slacks you’ll be looking like a modern age Jay Gatsby.
The calendar says it’s Spring,
but the weather report says otherwise.
So while your mind may be longing for lightweight layers and flirty skirts,
you’re still stuck dressing like it’s winter.
You can incorporate your favorite things about Spring ensembles
into a look that’s suited for the current climate conditions.
Mix a vibrant hue with your deep winter colors. We love how this periwinkle pops on navy and plum!
Instead of pairing your cardigan with brown wool slacks, pick a rich color in a raw silk. The texture of the silk works well in this transitional period but lightens up the look as we prepare for Spring!
Tired of wearing jeans every day? Mix it up with some color! We love a bold denim paired with an abstract print.
If all the vibrant tints are too much for you, try something more subtle. Dusty pastels are perfect for the transition from Winter to Spring and look great as suede or cotton twill.
